Stories and highlights

There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.

A year at our school

Celebrating our community

Our school events bring students, families and friends together throughout the year. The Hannans Road Rodeo was a highlight, giving students the opportunity to collaborate, perform and have fun while building teamwork, confidence and resilience.

Growing together

Our Gardening Club gives students hands-on opportunities to plant, care for and harvest our edible garden. Along the way, they develop practical skills, learn about sustainability and experience the satisfaction of seeing their efforts grow from seed to plate.

Inspiring young writers

Visiting author Mick Elliott brought storytelling to life for students across K–6. Through stories, drawing and writing, students explored the creative process and were inspired to develop and share ideas of their own.

Reaching new heights

Our students have opportunities to represent Hannans Road Public School beyond the school gate. Competing at the State Athletics Carnival is an exceptional achievement and reflects the determination, commitment and perseverance our students bring to their chosen pursuits.

Creativity on display

Our Year 6 students exhibited their artwork at the Stirrup Gallery in Marrickville, sharing their creativity with the wider community. The exhibition provided an authentic opportunity for students to celebrate their artistic skills, ideas and individual creative voices.

Shakespeare comes to life

Each year, Bell Shakespeare brings the world of Shakespeare into our school through an engaging and interactive performance. Students explore language, drama and storytelling while experiencing live theatre in a memorable and accessible way.

Celebrating individual achievement

We celebrate students who pursue their strengths and achieve success across a wide range of fields. From representative sport to selection in the statewide HPGE Creative Arts program, these achievements reflect dedication, talent and a willingness to challenge themselves.

Success on the field

Our students represented Hannans Road Public School with distinction at the District Field Events, achieving first, second and third places. Their results reflect both their athletic ability and the determination and persistence they brought to competition.

Student voices on air

Our students are stepping behind the microphone through our school podcasting project. Planning, interviewing, recording and producing their own content builds communication, creativity, collaboration and confidence while giving students an authentic audience for their ideas.

What do our parents and carers say?

'What I like most about the school is the strong sense of unity and community, it truly feels like one big family where everyone knows and supports each other.'

'I hope Hannans Road Public School continues to grow as the best “second family” for my children - a place where they feel safe, supported, and inspired to do their best.'
